The Adesso Choral Society is a select chamber chorus that places special emphasis on performing new music by living composers.

Founded in 2001 by director Margaret Collins Stoop, Adesso has performed music of many eras and genres at concerts throughout the Fairfield County, CT area.  Programs have included new works from local composers including Allen Brings, Michael La Barre, Robert Baksa, Evelyn Avoglia and Margaret Collins Stoop, as well as newly arranged folks songs from South Africa, Korea, England, Appalachia, Finland and North Argentina.  Seminal works by Kodaly, Mozart, Bach, Thompson and Faure have also been performed.

Leslie C. Smith, accompanist. This concert will feature a Connecticut premiere of Three Love Lyrics, by Massachusetts composer Ronald Perera, Three Airs by Wilton's Allen Brings, Huswifery by Richard K. Winslow,and many other delightful new choral works with intriguing harmonies and stunning piano accompaniment. Also on the program are two new works for solo piano to be performed by our accomplished accompanist, Leslie C. Smith: Romance, by EdWard Thompson of Westport, CT, which was composed just for this occasion; and Moody Morning, composed by Meg Collins Stoop.$15 suggested donation.

The Adesso Choral Society will join forces with the choir of the United Methodist Church of Westport and Weston singing John Rutter's Requiem under the direction of Leslie C. Smith.
Adesso's director, Margaret Collins Stoop, will present new works to be performed by Adesso, Leslie Smith accompanying.
